Under the administrative direction of the Director of Clinic-Based Services and the clinical guidance of the Medical Director, the Staff Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner plays a vital role in delivering high-quality psychiatric care. This position is ideal for a compassionate, driven professional committed to helping individuals begin and sustain their path to recovery.
What You’ll Do

Provide comprehensive psychiatric care including assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and medication management

Deliver efficient, patient-centered services through evaluations, medication reviews, and ongoing monitoring

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community partners to ensure coordinated, holistic care

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and clinical program development

Conduct examinations and certifications for involuntary psychiatric hospitalization in accordance with Michigan Mental Health Code

Maintain accurate, timely, and clinically sound documentation in electronic medical records

Support and implement evidence-based psychiatric practices

Engage in professional development through trainings, meetings, and conferences

Contribute to a positive, professional presence in both clinical and community settings

Additional Expectations
This role includes participation in on-call support, committee involvement, and consistent collaboration with the Medical Director.
Required Education / Certification / Licensure
- MSN degree and NP certification in the State of Michigan.
- Licensed to practice as an NP in the State of Michigan.
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification
- Valid Michigan Controlled Substance License and Drug Enforcement Agency Registration.
- Must pass background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional licenses, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of the National Practitioners Databank/Healthcare Integrity & Protection Databank Search, verification of Board Certification, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history.
- Must be insurable through the professional liability and malpractice insurance provided by LifeWays.
Preferred Education / Certification/Licensure
- Credentialed to provide Medication Assisted-Treatment for individuals with substance use disorders.
