Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)
- Provides financial, administrative, and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial and administrative operations.
- Maintains and manages client billing information.
- Manages and maintains client accounts for two states for various programs.
- Provides direct client contact by phone and in person.
- Applies payments to appropriate accounts.
- Bills various insurance companies/contractors/clients-either by paper or electronic
- Maintain client pre-authorizations for various insurance companies.
- Research client accounts for unpaid claims, billing issues, etc.
- Abide by the Standard of Ethical and adhere to official coding guidelines.
- Assist in site review audits with various insurance companies and state agencies.
- Maintain a positive and professional work environment.
- Ability to multi-task, manage time, meet deadlines, and remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Maintain standards of confidentiality of Lifeways’ clients and records
- Perform all work duties and activities in compliance with Lifeway’s policies/procedures, Oregon Administrative Rules, OSHA and HIPAA regulations
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of background check
- Valid Driver’s License
- AVADE training within 90 days of hire
Preferred:
- One year of previous related medical office experience with prior experience in billing and collections in a medical office or hospital setting is preferred.
- Managed Care or Medical Insurance experience.
- Experience in a production or deadline driven environment.
- Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Excel (sort & filter data) & Word (create & edit documents)
