- The Forensic Residential Specialist (Shift 3) at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing specialized support and care to individuals residing in forensic residential facilities. This role involves ensuring the safety and well-being of residents while promoting rehabilitation and recovery through structured programs and activities. The specialist will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to address the unique needs of individuals with forensic backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and supervise residents during assigned shifts to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Implement individualized care plans and therapeutic interventions tailored to the needs of forensic residents.
- Facilitate group activities and programs designed to promote social skills, coping strategies, and personal development.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of residents’ progress and report findings to the clinical team.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, legal professionals, and other stakeholders to support residents’ legal and rehabilitative processes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of residents’ activities, incidents, and treatment plans.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development and ensure compliance with facility policies and procedures.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed to manage challenging situations effectively.
- Uphold the principles of confidentiality and ethical practice in all interactions with residents and team members.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a behavioral health or forensic setting.
- Experience with residential treatment programs or facilities.
- Proven track record of working effectively with individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of forensic psychology and the criminal justice system.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively.
- Proficient in documentation and report writing.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with therapeutic techniques and interventions suitable for residential settings.
