Creative Director, Performance Marketing- Role Overview:

The Creative Director, Performance Marketing, leads the day-to-day execution of performance marketing creative across paid and lifecycle channels. This role is responsible for translating approved creative strategies into high-quality, conversion-focused assets delivered at speed and scale.

The Creative Director, Performance Marketing, does not own creative strategy. Instead, they partner closely with Creative Strategists, Growth, and Lifecycle teams to operationalize strategy through disciplined production, iteration, and optimization.

Success in this role is defined by executional excellence, team effectiveness, and measurable performance lift driven by creative output.

Creative Director, Performance Marketing- What You’ll Do:

Execute Against Creative Strategy

  • Translate creative strategies and briefs from Creative Strategists into effective, on-brand, performance-ready assets.
  • Ensure all creative output aligns to defined hypotheses, messaging frameworks, and testing plans.
  • Maintain consistency across formats, channels, and funnel stages while adapting execution for performance needs.

Manage & Develop the Creative Team

  • Recruit and manage a team of performance-focused creatives.
  • Set clear expectations for quality, speed, and accountability.
  • Establish production workflows, review processes, and creative QA standards.
  • Coach team members on designing for conversion, clarity, and testing requirements.

Performance Marketing Creative Delivery

  • Oversee creative execution for paid social, display, video, and other acquisition channels.
  • Support lifecycle marketing with executional creative for email, SMS, onboarding, retention, and reactivation.
  • Partner with Growth and Lifecycle teams to ensure creative is delivered on time and optimized based on performance feedback.

Agency & Freelancer Management

  • Manage creative agencies and freelance partners responsible for performance asset production.
  • Own briefs, timelines, reviews, and delivery standards for external partners.
  • Ensure agency output meets performance, brand, and compliance requirements.

Optimization & Iteration

  • Review performance data and feedback to inform creative iterations.
  • Implement learnings from tests by refining formats, layouts, hooks, and visual hierarchy.
  • Ensure winning concepts are efficiently versioned and scaled across channels.

Creative Director, Performance Marketing- What We’re Looking For:

Required Experience

  • 7 years in digital creative roles with significant performance marketing exposure.
  • Prior experience managing designers or creative teams.
  • Strong executional background in paid media and conversion-focused creative.
  • Experience working from strategist-led briefs and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage agencies or freelancers with clear output accountability.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong visual design skills with a conversion-first mindset.
  • Deep understanding of performance creative best practices and channel constraints.
  • Operational strength: workflow design, prioritization, and delivery at scale.
  • Comfortable working in a structured, cross-functional environment.
  • Clear communicator who translates strategy into action.

Nice to Have

  • Motion and video experience for performance channels.
  • Experience supporting lifecycle marketing execution.
  • Familiarity with CRO principles and testing frameworks.
  • Experience in regulated or compliance-aware categories.

Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
