What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Marketing Officer position at Lifecor?
Chief Marketing Officer
Lifecor | Life Insurance Carrier in Formation
HQ Location: South Florida
Founding Executive Role
About Lifecor
Lifecor is building a modern life insurance carrier designed around speed, simplicity, technology, and a fundamentally better consumer experience.
Life insurance is one of the most important products people will ever purchase, yet the industry is still marketed in ways that feel outdated, overly corporate, and disconnected from the people it is supposed to protect. We intend to change that.
We are building Lifecor with a modern consumer application, powerful producer tools, streamlined underwriting technology, and a brand capable of reaching people in ways traditional carriers have failed to do.
Our goal is not to look or communicate like another insurance company. We want to build a brand people recognize, understand, trust, and genuinely connect with.
The Role
We are looking for a founding Chief Marketing Officer to develop the identity, voice, audience, and marketing engine behind Lifecor as we prepare to launch.
This is not a traditional insurance marketing role. We are not looking for someone to recycle generic financial-services campaigns, stock imagery, or corporate messaging.
The CMO will be responsible for building the ethos behind Lifecor and determining how the company shows up across social media, digital platforms, partnerships, paid acquisition, public relations, and the broader cultural conversation.
Social media will be the center of our early marketing strategy. The right person must understand how to create content people actually want to watch, share, discuss, and remember. They should know how to turn an otherwise unglamorous category into something culturally relevant, emotionally compelling, and commercially successful.
This person will work directly with the founder and executive team to shape Lifecor’s brand before launch and build the infrastructure needed to acquire consumers, attract producers, establish credibility, and create long-term demand.
What You Will Own
* Develop Lifecor’s complete brand, marketing, and communications strategy.
* Build a distinct brand voice that feels modern, recognizable, authentic, and human.
* Create a social-first content strategy across platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, and emerging channels.
* Establish the creative direction for short-form video, founder-led content, educational content, campaigns, advertisements, and storytelling.
* Build an internal or external content operation capable of producing consistently at a high level.
* Position Lifecor as more than an insurance company by creating a brand ethos around family, responsibility, protection, ambition, and the people who depend on us.
* Translate complex life insurance concepts into content that is simple, interesting, emotionally resonant, and easy to understand.
* Develop launch campaigns for Lifecor’s consumer products, producer platform, partnerships, and company milestones.
* Build strategies for organic growth, paid social, influencer relationships, creator partnerships, public relations, and community development.
* Develop Lifecor’s search strategy, including SEO, content distribution, and digital discoverability.
* Work closely with product and design teams to ensure the consumer application, producer tools, website, advertising, and brand experience feel consistent.
* Build separate but connected marketing strategies for consumers, producers, distribution partners, investors, and industry stakeholders.
* Identify cultural moments, trends, conversations, and creative opportunities where Lifecor can participate authentically.
* Build measurable acquisition funnels and track engagement, conversion, customer-acquisition cost, lead quality, and brand growth.
* Recruit and manage future marketing, content, creative, growth, communications, and media personnel.
* Help establish Lifecor as the most recognizable new brand entering the life insurance industry.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is creative, commercially intelligent, highly online, and capable of building a brand from the ground up.
You should understand both the creative and analytical sides of marketing. You must be able to develop a large-scale brand vision while also understanding what makes an individual video, headline, campaign, or advertisement perform.
You may come from consumer technology, fintech, insurtech, media, consumer products, a creative agency, a high-growth startup, or another category that has successfully transformed how an industry communicates.
Direct life insurance experience is not required. In some cases, approaching the industry without traditional insurance marketing habits may be an advantage.
Strong candidates will have experience with several of the following:
* Social-media strategy and audience development
* Short-form video and creator-led content
* Brand positioning and storytelling
* Content strategy and editorial planning
* Consumer acquisition and growth marketing
* Paid social and performance marketing
* SEO and digital content distribution
* Influencer, creator, and partnership campaigns
* Public relations and earned media
* Creative direction and campaign development
* Building or leading internal creative teams
* Marketing technology, analytics, and attribution
* Founder-led or executive-led brand building
* Launching a new company, product, or category
What Success Looks Like
Before launch, you will have created a clear and differentiated identity for Lifecor, established our voice across major platforms, developed a consistent content engine, and built an audience that understands why the company exists.
Following launch, you will be responsible for converting that attention into consumer demand, producer interest, strategic relationships, applications, policies, and long-term brand value.
The objective is not simply to generate impressions. It is to make Lifecor culturally relevant, commercially effective, and extremely difficult for traditional carriers to ignore.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to shape a national brand from its earliest stage and redefine how life insurance is presented to the public.
The right person will have significant influence over Lifecor’s identity, strategy, creative direction, public presence, and future marketing organization. We are looking for someone who wants ownership, responsibility, and the opportunity to build—not someone looking to inherit an established corporate marketing department.
Life insurance has traditionally been marketed terribly.
We intend to change that.
