The Paramedic renders highly professional and technical care to patients. Provides direct and indirect patient care. Directs and supervises other assigned team members and collaborates with physicians and multi-disciplinary team members to achieve the highest standards of care specific to the age of the patient. Provides patient care/services for all stages of the lifespan including pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
Base pay $24/hour 1.25 Shift Differential

Graduate of an accredited Paramedic Program
Continuing Education Requirements:
To be eligible for renewal of licensure, the Paramedic must complete the following:
1. Forty-eight (48) hours of refresher courses
2. Eight (8) hours of ACLS recertification
3. Eight (8) hours of BLS recertification
4. Eight (8) hours of PALS recertification
Experience:
- One year of experience required in the hospital or pre-hospital setting
. EMS experience preferred.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:
- Current Paramedic license from the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners
- Must have current BLS, ACLS PLS and/or PALS
-In State applicants must have GA State license - Out of state applicants must have current NREMP (national registry) and must obtain GA licensure
Physical Demands:
- Walking and standing throughout shift.
- Lifting patients with assistance daily.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, and listening skills).
- Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care.
Other Special Characteristics:
- May be required to work unusual or additional shift hours.
- Works under stressful conditions and in difficult situations.
- Works in a continually changing work environment.

III. Performs assigned procedures for the wellbeing of the patient.

Major Work Activities:
I.1 Recognizes and takes appropriate action to safeguard clients against the effects of fire, infection or physical injury.
I.2. Conforms to established institutional and departmental policies and procedures for the protection of client and personnel.
I.3 Reports incidents in a timely manner
I 4 Uses universal blood and body precautions.
II.1 Completes assigned duties within appropriate time frame.
II.2 Demonstrates responsible maintenance of supplies and equipment..
II.3 Performs triage by Emergency Room standard..
III.1 Operates radio communication with the EMS and relays information to the Charge Nurse.
III.2 Performs venipuncture and collects other lab specimens as instructed..
III.3 Administers oxygen therapy and performs oral suctioning.
III.4 Documents procedures performed and patient response on ER records.
IV.1 Communicates with the next shift regarding status of the department, work left incomplete or unresolved situations.
IV.2 Assists other members of the ER health care team as necessary or as required by supervisor.
V.1 Provides appropriate care for patient as indicated taking into consideration their condition and age (New Born, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric.
