JOB SUMMARY
This position is for a MT/MLT/CLS whose responsibility is to perform clinical laboratory procedures, quality assurance and instrument maintenance. Analyzes specimens and obtains data in for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Provides safe and efficient laboratory services to neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric patient populations. Communicates with medical staff, other departments and outside agencies while maintaining confidentiality. May provide day-to day direction to five (5) technical and skilled personnel to. The position reports to the Laboratory Supervisor and Director of Laboratory Services
Qualifications:JOB QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum level of Education: Education level equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with concentration in medical technology or related field preferred.
2. Formal Training: Clinical competence in medical technology preferred.
3. Licensure, Certifications & Registration: Medical Technology Certification required by AMT, ASCP, HHS, NCA, or ISCLT. Annual recertification preferred.
4. Work Experience: Advanced clinical laboratory testing skills in blood banking, chemistry, bacteriology, hematology, and serology. Minimum of one (1) year experience in laboratory science. Basic computer skills necessary.
