JOB SUMMARY
This position is for a Licensed Practical Nurse whose responsibility is to provide day-to-day patient care activities to patients receiving therapeutic and diagnostic services in the Emergency Department, in accordance with accreditation standards, federal, state, and local regulations, organizational and departmental policies and procedures and professional standards. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, prioritize, plan, deliver, and evaluate infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient responses to potential life threatening situations or illnesses. Refers unusual clinical and administrative problems to the Registered Nurse. Responsible for the supervision of skilled personnel. The position reports to the Director of Emergency Department.
Qualifications:
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum level of Education: Education level equivalent to a licensed practical or vocational nursing diploma required.
- Formal Training: Clinical competence in nursing required
- Licensure, Certifications & Registration: Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Georgia; BLS Provider certification required; ACLS Provider certification and PALS certification within 90 days. PHTLS within 180 days. Instructor certifications do not replace provider certification requirements.
- Work Experience: Basic technical nursing skills. Basic cardiac arrhythmia identification skills. Basic computer skills. Minimum three (3) months medical surgical experience required.
