Position Summary

Maintenance Supervisor – Mechanical
Position Summary
Seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supervising maintenance technicians, improving equipment reliability, supporting plant operations, and ensuring safe and efficient maintenance practices across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, instrumentation, and furnace systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting industrial manufacturing equipment including industrial vacuum furnaces, high-temperature process equipment, pumps, hydraulics, cooling systems, and related plant utilities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment
- Lead preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, instrumentation, and furnace systems
- Support maintenance and reliability efforts for vacuum furnaces, industrial furnaces, thermal processing systems, cooling systems, and associated controls
- Coordinate equipment installations, startups, shutdowns, rebuilds, and capital improvement projects
- Drive equipment uptime, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Train and mentor maintenance technicians while promoting a strong safety culture
- Coordinate contractors and outside vendors on-site
- Maintain maintenance records, ISO documentation, PM schedules, and work orders
- Investigate equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Provide hands-on technical support as needed on the plant floor
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures including LOTO, confined space, hot work permits, and environmental requirements
- 4 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
- Previous maintenance leadership or supervisory experience required
- Strong troubleshooting experience with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process systems
- Experience supporting vacuum furnace systems, industrial furnaces, thermal processing operations, or related high-temperature manufacturing equipment strongly preferred
- Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance programs
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and P&IDs
- Experience coordinating shutdowns, contractors, equipment installations, and plant projects
- Experience in aerospace, defense, electronics, metals, alloys, heat treat, chemical processing, or related manufacturing industries preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on supervisory role within a manufacturing facility
- Fast-paced production environment supporting critical plant and furnace equipment
- Overtime or weekend support may be required during shutdowns, emergency maintenance situations, or production demands
- Salary range: $80,000 – $95,000 based on experience
