Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney – Birmingham, AL

Established law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney to join its growing insurance practice in Birmingham, Alabama. Responsibilities

• Analyze and prepare coverage opinions involving CGL, professional liability, property, and excess/umbrella policies.
• Handle insurance coverage litigation, including declaratory judgment actions, bad faith claims, and other coverage disputes in state and federal courts.
• Advise and defend insurers in complex coverage matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, and coverage-related correspondence.
• Conduct depositions, prepare witnesses, and assist with trials and arbitrations.
• Partner with the broader litigation team on insurance defense and commercial litigation matters.
• Provide strategic guidance to clients regarding coverage issues and risk management.
  
  

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active Alabama Bar admission (or ability to obtain admission promptly).
• 2 years of civil litigation experience with a strong emphasis on insurance coverage matters.
• Experience drafting coverage opinions and litigating coverage disputes.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple matters effectively and thrive in a collaborative environment.
