HVAC Mechanical Engineer
HVAC Mechanical Design- MEP- HVAC- Plumbing - MEP Engineering
An excellent MEP engineering firm based in Manhattan, NY is actively seeking to add a mid-level and mechanical engineer, MEP-HVAC experience to the organization. This is a full-time permanent staff opportunity. Convenient location for public transportation.

Responsibilities:
- Develop HVAC system layouts, schematics, and detailed designs utilizing AutoCAD and Revit for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings
- Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure project accuracy and compliance with relevant codes and standards to meet all local regulatory requirements
- Design of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC) and mechanical systems
- Perform equipment sizing, thermal load, and ductwork sizing calculations
- Develop procurement specifications, prepare engineering drawings such as piping and instrument diagrams, airflow diagrams, equipment plan, and ductwork layout drawings
- Perform detailed heating and cooling load calculations according to ASHRAE standards to accurately determine appropriate HVAC equipment required
- Collaborate closely with team members, leadership, clients, architects, and associated contractors, to integrate HVAC systems into building designs
- Work with multi-discipline staff in designing and implementing mechanical systems in new or existing buildings
- Ability to perform project site visits during design and construction to ensure proper implementation of the design document
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Architectural Engineering or equivalent
- Four (4) or more years of engineering experience in the design of HVAC systems
- Plumbing and/or Fire Protection system design experience a plus
- Engineer in Training (EIT)
- AutoCAD and Revit proficient
- Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
