Critical Infrastructure Service Technician (477)

Job Summary: The Critical Infrastructure Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of HVAC systems and related equipment. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality service while ensuring safety standards are met.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Test electrical and refrigerant circuits using the appropriate equipment.
• Repair and replace defective components, thermostats, relays, timers, and wiring.
• Repair and service heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to improve efficiency, including replacing filters and contactors, refilling refrigerants, and confirming proper refrigerant levels.
• Install, connect, and adjust thermostats, relays, controls, and timers.
• Study wiring diagrams, design specifications, and manufacturers' recommendations to confirm configurations and ensure proper installation of heating and cooling equipment components.
• Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety protocols and maintaining a clean work area.
• Record and report time, materials, faults, deficiencies, and unusual occurrences on work orders.
• Perform preventive or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning equipment and replacing filters.
• Inspect and test systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
• Detect internal and external equipment malfunctions, including alarm wiring, control systems, and building environmental systems.

• Strong adaptability and flexibility, with the ability to work in a variety of environments and handle changing priorities.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients and team members.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in HVAC or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and HVAC diagnostic tools.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform tasks that require standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
• Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and outdoor conditions.
• Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights when required.
• Ability to travel to field locations as needed.
