Description
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Test electrical and refrigerant circuits using the appropriate equipment.
- Repair and replace defective components, thermostats, relays, timers, and wiring.
- Repair and service heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to improve efficiency, including replacing filters and contactors, refilling refrigerants, and confirming proper refrigerant levels.
- Install, connect, and adjust thermostats, relays, controls, and timers.
- Study wiring diagrams, design specifications, and manufacturers' recommendations to confirm configurations and ensure proper installation of heating and cooling equipment components.
- Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety protocols and maintaining a clean work area.
- Record and report time, materials, faults, deficiencies, and unusual occurrences on work orders.
- Perform preventive or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning equipment and replacing filters.
- Inspect and test systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
- Detect internal and external equipment malfunctions, including alarm wiring, control systems, and building environmental systems.
Qualifications

- Proficiency in all aspects of HVAC operation, maintenance, and repair.
- Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside the box to address unique challenges.
- Strong adaptability and flexibility, with the ability to work in a variety of environments and handle changing priorities.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients and team members.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in HVAC or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and HVAC diagnostic tools.
