What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at LHH?
Work Type: Full Time, Onsite, M-F 7:30a - 6:00p
Compensation: $65-75k/year
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including journal entries and month-end/year-end close.
- Manage inventory accounting for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Prepare bank reconciliations, fixed asset schedules, depreciation, debt schedules, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Manage invoicing and accounts receivable, including following up on outstanding balances and resolving billing discrepancies.
- Calculate and reconcile sales commissions.
- Support external audits by preparing documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Analyze financial results, operational costs, and trends to provide actionable insights.
- Support M&A activities, including financial data reconciliation and acquisition integration.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, production, supply chain, and project management teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Accounting experience involving general ledger, reconciliations, financial reporting, and/or accounts receivable.
- Experience with ERP systems; SYSPRO experience is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills; VBA and/or SQL experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented with an initiative-driven, growth-minded approach.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
