We’re partnering with a well‑established non‑profit organization in the San Francisco area to find a Senior Payroll Specialist who’s eager to continue learning and growing. Responsibilities:
- Process end‑to‑end payroll for an organization with 200 employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations
- Manage payroll across multiple departments, each with different GL codes, work rules, pay types, and cost centers
- Review, validate, and audit payroll data prior to each payroll run to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Ensure all payroll changes (new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, deductions, retro pay, etc.) are accurately reflected in the payroll system
- Administer and support integrated time and attendance systems, ensuring accurate capture of worked hours, PTO, and exceptions
- Partner with department leaders and HR to resolve timecard discrepancies and ensure adherence to work rules and organizational policies
- Monitor and troubleshoot timekeeping issues, providing guidance and support to managers and employees as needed
- Serve as a key user of the payroll and timekeeping platform
- UKG payroll and timekeeping experience is strongly preferred, though candidates with experience using similar integrated systems will be considered
- Ensure payroll processing complies with federal, state, and local regulations
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee payroll and compensation data at all times
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to payroll‑related inquiries
- Maintain organized payroll records and documentation in accordance with retention requirements
- Provide timely and professional responses to payroll‑related inquiries from employees and managers
Qualifications:
- Experience running payroll for an organization with 200 employees
- Hands‑on experience with integrated payroll and time & attendance platforms
- Strong preference for UKG payroll and timekeeping experience; experience with comparable systems will be considered
- Advanced ability to work with payroll data, recreate reports, analyze information, and use Excel effectively
- Proven ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain exceptional attention to detail
- Experience supporting payroll in a complex organizational environment with multiple departments, GL codes, and work rules

Salary : $42 - $50
