Buyer | Aerospace Manufacturing Firm
We’re looking for a skilled Buyer II to join a leading Aerospace Manufacturing team in Baldwin Park, California (Onsite). This 6 month contract role offers a strong possibility of extension and conversion. If you have proven experience in procurement, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration—especially within a fast-paced, engineer-to-order environment—this is an excellent opportunity to advance your career with a high-impact team.
What You’ll Do:
- Source, negotiate, and purchase materials, components, and services to support aerospace manufacturing operations
- Evaluate supplier quotes to determine the most cost-effective and reliable options
- Generate and manage purchase orders (POs), updating delivery schedules based on MRP requirements
- Monitor open order reports and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
- Support engineering and reverse-engineering projects for custom builds and special orders
- Identify and qualify new suppliers for specialized or engineer-to-order projects
- Partner with engineering, production, and quality teams to align purchasing with business needs
- Conduct local supplier visits and build strong vendor relationships
- Thrive in a small-team environment that values collaboration, agility, and accountability
What You Bring:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent relevant experience)
- Proven track record in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain operations—preferably in manufacturing or aerospace
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Self-directed, ambitious, and eager to learn and grow professionally
Nice to Have:
- Experience with aerospace suppliers or companies such as Eaton, Woodward, Parker, Safran, or Collins Aerospace
- Familiarity with design, quality, and aerospace compliance standards
