Our client is hiring an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to support their expanding transactional team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is proactive, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator. The anticipated salary for the role is between $80,000-$120,000 a year.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares a variety of legal documents including transactional closing materials, binders, title insurance policies and endorsements, deeds, bills of sale, and assignments for attorney review and use.
- Initiates and manages due diligence investigations, including municipal liens, open permits, zoning, UCC filings, bankruptcy, federal and county taxes, environmental and engineering reports, surveys, current leases, service and management contracts, and entity qualification searches.
- Drafts real estate closing statements, calculates prorations, and prepares trust receipts, wire transmittal letters, and disbursement documentation.
- Verifies wire instructions and coordinates the disbursement of closing funds.
- Oversees the execution and delivery of closing documents and assists throughout the closing process.
- Conducts post-closing tasks such as document recordation, title updates, and the preparation of closing binders and document files.
- Ensures clear and proactive communication to help balance workloads and meet deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail with the ability to anticipate and address peripheral needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of real estate transactional experience
- Experience with purchase and sale agreements, title and survey reviews, and closing management
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems (e.g., NetDocs)
- Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
