What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal position at LHH?
Overview:
LHH is seeking a full-time Litigation Paralegal with at least three years of experience in a law firm environment, specializing in commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive legal support to attorneys throughout all phases of litigation in both state and federal courts. The Litigation Paralegal will oversee complex commercial and business litigation matters from initial filing through trial and post-judgment activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents and correspondence, including pleadings, discovery, motions, subpoenas, and trial materials.
- Organize and manage case documents using a document management system.
- Track deadlines and maintain attorney calendars for hearings, depositions, and filing dates.
- Electronically file legal documents in Florida state and federal courts.
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of trial preparation, such as compiling exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
- Support the discovery process by organizing, reviewing, and analyzing documents and preparing responsive materials.
- Coordinate new matter intake, conflicts checks, and matter closing procedures.
- Prepare time entries, assist with client billing, and review/edit pre-bills for accuracy.
- Respond to inquiries from clients and internal team members in a timely and professional manner.
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with iManage and Aderant is a plus.
- Strong understanding of commercial litigation processes, including discovery, motion practice, and trial procedures.
- Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of paralegal experience in a law firm, with a focus on litigation.
- Experience supporting trial preparation and litigation procedures in both Florida state and federal courts is required.
