A Chambers‑recognized Texas litigation platform is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate (1 years) to join its Houston office. This role supports a practice that blends complex commercial litigation with a meaningful oil & gas litigation component. Oil & gas experience is not required, though it is a plus.
The Work
- Mix of complex business / commercial disputes and oil & gas‑related litigation
- Substantive associate responsibility with direct partner involvement
- Exposure across the full litigation lifecycle, including dispositive motions, discovery, and case strategy
What They’re Looking For
- 1 years of commercial litigation experience (law firm background preferred)
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Oil & gas familiarity welcomed but not required
Hours & Flexibility
- 1,800 billable hours
- In‑office Houston team environment with flexibility to work remotely when necessary to accommodate personal needs
Compensation & Bonus
- $190K base, depending on experience
- Two tiered bonus structure:
- Incentive bonus: based pm fees received that exceed a predetermined threshold
- Discretionary bonus, separate from the incentive component
