What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Manager position at LHH?
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with an organization in the construction project-based sector (focused on bids and projects) that is seeking to add a Finance Manager to its established team. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, a self-starter, and thrive in a smaller, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Finance Director, Municipal, and other stakeholders to manage financial reporting, planning, and analysis activities.
- Provide timely financial insights and reports to support decision-making.
- Oversee the monthly closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage treasury functions for the Municipal Water & Wastewater business unit, including cash flow forecasting, invoicing, collections, and vendor payables.
- Conduct variance analyses comparing actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports for internal and external audiences.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate audits and liaise with auditors to provide documentation and address inquiries.
- Develop and implement improvements in financial processes, policies, and systems.
- Handle inter-company reconciliations and interfaces.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage filings.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial projections aligned with company goals.
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed.
Core Competencies & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in a global or multinational environment.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards.
- Familiarity with IFRS accounting principles.
