What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at LHH?
LHH is partnering with a well-established, full-service mechanical contractor known for delivering large-scale commercial HVAC solutions across Florida. With a long-standing reputation for excellence, this organization continues to grow and is seeking two Estimators (Junior & Senior levels) to join their expanding team.

What You’ll Do
- Analyze bid specifications, drawings, and project requirements for mechanical systems (HVAC, chilled water, condenser systems, etc.)
- Perform detailed take-offs and develop accurate, competitive cost estimates [
- Manage bid processes, including subcontractor/vendor coordination and bid package preparation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with project management and operations teams to ensure seamless project handoff
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
- Support multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
What We’re Looking For
Senior Estimator:
- 5 years of experience estimating large-scale commercial mechanical projects
- Experience working on projects ranging from approximately $10M–$90M
- Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and complex project documents
Junior Estimator:
- 2–3 years of experience in commercial estimating
- Solid understanding of blueprints, take-offs, and specifications
- Experience supporting projects up to ~$3M
For Both Roles:
- Experience in heavy commercial HVAC/mechanical systems (no residential and no general contractors)
- Mechanical engineering knowledge
- Knowledge of systems such as chilled water, hot water, and condenser systems
- Proficiency with estimating tools/software (e.g., FastPIPE, Quote Express, QuickPen, or similar)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with vendors and project teams
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment
Salary : $90,000 - $130,000
