Are you a Senior SQL Server DBA who thrives in high-availability environments and enjoys being the go-to expert for database performance, recoverability, and optimization?

We're seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead the administration of our Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL environments across both on-premises and cloud infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex database challenges, improving performance, building resilient disaster recovery solutions, and partnering across infrastructure, security, and operations teams.

What You'll Be Doing

• Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database/Managed Instance environments
• Design and support High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions including:
• Always On Availability Groups
• Failover Clustering
• Log Shipping
• Replication
• Manage database backup and recovery strategies, including point-in-time recovery and restore validation
• Conduct disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation to ensure RPO/RTO objectives are met
• Monitor and optimize database performance through:
• Query tuning
• Index optimization
• Execution plan analysis
• Wait statistics analysis
• Support database security initiatives including:
• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
• Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)
• Always Encrypted
• Least-Privilege Access Models
• Perform capacity planning and resource optimization across Azure and on-prem environments
• Automate database administration and reporting using PowerShell and T-SQL
• Partner with Network, Systems, Infrastructure, and Security teams on critical projects and production support
• Serve as the senior escalation point for database-related issues and recovery operations

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

✅ 7 years of SQL Server Database Administration experience

✅ Strong experience supporting hybrid environments across Azure and on-premises infrastructure

✅ Expertise with:

• Microsoft SQL Server
• Azure SQL Database
• Azure SQL Managed Instance
• Always On Availability Groups
• Failover Clustering
• Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

✅ Advanced performance tuning experience:

• Query optimization
• Indexing strategies
• Execution plans
• Capacity planning

✅ Hands-on experience with:

• PowerShell
• T-SQL
• Backup and recovery operations
• Database migrations and upgrades

✅ Strong understanding of:

• RPO/RTO requirements
• Point-in-time recovery
• Replication
• Log Shipping
• Security and compliance best practices

Preferred Qualifications

⭐ Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300)

⭐ Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)

⭐ Experience supporting:

• Veeam backup environments
• VMware vSphere
• Enterprise-scale SQL Server environments
