Cost Accountant
Location: Hybrid in Seattle, WA
Contract Type: Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: Competitive market rate (Estimated range: $80,000–$100,000 annually DOE)
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled Cost Accountant for a hybrid contract-to-hire opportunity in Seattle, WA. This position is ideal for an analytical accounting professional with strong attention to detail and a passion for operational excellence. The Cost Accountant will play a key role in analyzing production costs, monitoring inventory, and ensuring accurate cost reporting to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and analyze cost accounting records for materials, labor, and overhead
Prepare and reconcile inventory and cost of goods sold accounts
Monitor and analyze manufacturing variances, purchase price variances, and margin performance
Assist with standard cost updates, cost roll-ups, and variance analysis
Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate cost data and process alignment
Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations related to inventory and cost activities
Support month-end close and financial reporting by providing detailed cost analysis and commentary
Assist in developing budgets and forecasts related to production and inventory
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
Participate in annual physical inventory counts and cycle count programs
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and GAAP
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3 years of cost accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or distribution environment
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory valuation methods
Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems (such as SAP, NetSuite, or Oracle)
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and operations teams
CPA or CMA certification preferred
Schedule:
Hybrid work model (3 days onsite in Seattle, 2 days remote per week)
