LHH has partnered with a global manufacturing leader to find a talented Controller to join their finance team. This organization produces a wide range of products used in residential, commercial, and public spaces worldwide. As their Controller you will play a key role in financial strategy, reporting accuracy, and operational leadership.
Responsibilities of this Controller career opportunity in North San Diego County include:
- Lead the preparation and distribution of timely, accurate financial statements and consolidated reports.
- Manage the month-end close process and oversee journal entries, schedules, and deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other accounting standards; draft supporting documentation as needed.
- Supervise annual audit activities and maintain internal controls across accounting functions.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and tax-related compliance.
- Lead Accounts Payable and General Accounting teams, ensuring adherence to policies and regulations.
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and system upgrades.
- Provide financial analysis, KPI tracking, and profitability insights to support strategic decisions.
- Mentor and manage accounting staff, aligning team goals with business objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role preferably within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting best practices.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with JDE or similar large ERP system.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
