Accounting Manager
Location: Monroe, NC | Fully Onsite
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Salary: $80,000-$95,000, depending on experience

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing organization in the Monroe, NC area to identify an experienced Accounting Manager for a permanent, direct-hire opportunity.
This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys taking ownership of the accounting function and working closely with business leadership. The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, inventory and cost accounting, and internal controls while coordinating the work of additional accounting support resources.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and account reconciliations
- Lead monthly and year-end closing processes
- Review journal entries and reconciliations for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting
- Manage vendor payments, customer collections, and daily cash activity
- Oversee inventory accounting and related reconciliations
- Monitor product costs, manufacturing costs, freight, and inventory adjustments
- Analyze margins and financial results and investigate discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records
- Strengthen accounting procedures, internal controls, documentation, and approval processes
- Coordinate with external accounting and tax professionals as needed
- Review work completed by accounting support staff
- Partner with leadership and operational teams to improve accounting processes and reporting
Qualifications
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Hands-on QuickBooks Desktop experience required
- Experience with AP, AR, general ledger, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls
- Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Ability to independently manage priorities and take ownership of the accounting function
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Experience in a commercial, project-based, manufacturing, distribution, construction, building products, or similar operational environment is preferred
