Job Title: Accounting Clerk / Project Accountant (Contract)
Location: Cranbury, NJ (Fully Onsite)
Compensation: $25–$30/hour
Duration: 3–6 months (Maternity Leave Coverage)
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and team-focused Accounting Clerk / Project Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-paced environment. This is an immediate need with the opportunity to start as soon as next week. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative setting and be willing to jump in wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform job costing activities, including data entry into job cost systems and partnering with Project Managers
• Manage Accounts Payable processes, including invoice processing and vendor communication
• Assist with billing and Accounts Receivable functions
• Support subcontract administration and documentation
• Provide general accounting and administrative support to the team
• Maintain accurate records and ensure strong attention to detail across all tasks
Qualifications:
• Prior experience in construction, engineering, or architecture industries strongly preferred
• Experience with Sage CRE 300 is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proactive mindset with a team player attitude (“how can I help?” approach)
• Ability to work fully onsite in Cranbury, NJ
