We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our client's team on a contract basis in Chicago. This role is responsible for managing procurement activities, supporting vendor relationships, and ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing operations. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, hands-on ERP/MRP experience, and advanced proficiency in Excel.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full purchasing cycle, including requisitions, purchase orders, and vendor coordination
- Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and inventory data within ERP/MRP systems
- Monitor stock levels and collaborate with internal teams on demand planning
- Analyze purchasing data and generate reports using Excel to support decision-making
- Resolve discrepancies related to orders, shipments, and invoices
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (required)
- 3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience (required)
- Strong Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting
- Hands-on experience with ERP and/or MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
