Payroll Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a Payroll Accountant for one of our customers located in San Jose, California. This position is 100% in-office! The ideal candidate will have strong payroll skills and have excellent general accounting abilities. This position will report to the Controller and be a part of a small team. The role be responsible for managing a biweekly payroll of 250 employees and supporting general ledger month and year-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, assist with the audit preparation, and support with other duties in the accounting department as well as assigned projects.Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required- Payroll experience comfortable processing a biweekly payroll (200 employees)- Solid payroll foundation understanding Payroll Tax Regulations, Labor Cost Allocations, California Labor Laws- Comfortable with your debits and credits and GAAPs (reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close)- Industry experience in a Non-Profit would be a plus- Payroll software experience with Paycom preferred.
