As an HR Generalist for a higher education client in San Francisco, you will serve as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, and staff, embodying the welcoming face of the Human Resources department. Your role will involve managing a variety of HR functions, including benefits and leave administration, recruitment, and payroll support. You will be responsible for ensuring a smooth onboarding process and fostering a positive workplace culture. Your ability to interface effectively with diverse groups and your alignment with the institution's culture will be crucial to your success.
Work Type: Ongoing Contract
Pay: $35 - $40 /hr, based on experience
Schedule: Fully Onsite, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm

- Administer employee benefits and leave programs, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and regulations
- Support recruitment efforts by coordinating job postings, screening candidates, and facilitating interviews
- Provide payroll support, assisting with payroll processing and addressing employee inquiries
- Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless transition into the organization
- Serve as the initial HR contact for students, faculty, and staff, providing guidance and support on HR-related matters
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture, promoting engagement and collaboration
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in an HR role
- Proven experience in benefits and leave administration, recruitment, and payroll support
- Strong interpersonal skills with a welcoming demeanor and personality
- Ability to effectively interface with students, faculty, and staff
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to fit within and promote the institution's culture.
