They value collaboration, accuracy, and transparency, and are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support our growing finance team.Position SummaryThe Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations with a strong emphasis on grant accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with state and federal grant requirements, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing meaningful financial support to program staff and leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesReconcile multiple bank accounts and complete monthly balance sheet reconciliationsPrepare and post monthly recurring journal entries using Microsoft Excel and accounting systemsSupport internal and external audits and participate in annual grant closeoutsPrepare Accounts Receivable invoices, adjustments, and monthly reconciliationsReview grant budgets to generate accurate billing and support the purchase request processMaintain compliance with state and federal grant requirements, including documentation and reportingProcess and maintain program records in accordance with grant guidelinesBack up Accounts Payable batch approvals and assist with workflow management as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)2 years of accounting experience; nonprofit and grant accounting experience preferredStrong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reportingProficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with nonprofit accounting systems (e.g., Financial Edge NXT, QuickBooks, or similar) preferredHigh attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance staffCommitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and the organization's missionLHH BenefitsThis position is supported through LHH, offering access to a comprehensive benefits package that may include:Medical, dental, and vision insurance options401(k) retirement plan eligibilityHoliday pay and service bonusEmployee assistance and wellness resourcesCareer development and professional support through LHH Specific benefits, eligibility, and coverage details are provided by LHH and may vary based on assignment status and hours worked.
