Job Title: Nonprofit Accountant (Contract-to-Hire)

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Nonprofit Accountant to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work remotely while maintaining a strong connection to our Jacksonville-based office. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and a passion for supporting community-focused initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and nonprofit standards.
- Assist with grant tracking, fund accounting, and donor reporting.
- Support annual audits and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
- Collaborate with program managers to monitor budgets and financial performance.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar).
- Strong understanding of fund accounting and nonprofit financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a hybrid work setting.
Pay Details: $20.00 to $26.44 per hour
