What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Remediation Technician position at LF Staffing Services, Inc.?
We are seeking a Lead Remediation Technician for a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity in San Leandro, CA. This day shift position runs Monday through Friday and is responsible for leading remediation projects, supporting the Project Manager, managing field teams, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and with excellent customer satisfaction. The Lead Technician will assist with emergency response, estimating, project documentation, job site management, and quality control while providing leadership, training, and support to technicians and helpers. This role may also step in as Acting Project Manager when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage onsite remediation crews to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project scope.
- Support Project Managers with emergency response, estimating, job setup, project closeout, and customer communication.
- Perform inspections, create estimates, document job progress, and maintain accurate records including photos, notes, moisture maps, and dry logs.
- Manage remediation projects including water damage, mold, sewage, structural cleaning, contents cleaning, board-up, biohazard, and related restoration services.
- Train, mentor, and support technicians while promoting safety, quality standards, teamwork, and professional development.
Requirements:
- IICRC certification required; must be at Journeyman level or actively working toward it with a minimum of 3 completed classes.
- Experience in remediation, restoration, mitigation, or related field operations.
- Ability to lead crews, manage job sites, and ensure projects are completed within scope, timeline, and budget requirements.
- Experience using restoration software platforms such as PSA, Encircle, Xactimate, Contents Tracker, or similar systems preferred.
- Strong knowledge of remediation processes, moisture monitoring, equipment setup, containment, and selective demolition.
