Summary: Performs general duties related to the installation of outdoor decking systems and related components. Responsibilities include preparing materials, loading and unloading company vehicles, verifying and storing received merchandise, jobsite setup and cleanup, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepares decking materials, hardware, and tools for scheduled installations and loads company vehicle(s) for delivery to job sites.
- Installs decking systems including framing, deck boards, railings, stairs, skirting, and related outdoor structures as assigned by supervisor.
- Assists with layout, measuring, cutting, and assembly of decking components to ensure proper fit and structural integrity.
- Verifies delivered materials and follows all inventory control practices and procedures.
- Follows safe vehicle operation, jobsite safety standards, and proper equipment usage.
- Immediately reports all accidents, injuries, and incidents involving damage to merchandise, buildings, equipment, or customer property to management.
- Practices safe and proper lifting, carrying, and material handling techniques.
- Performs day-to-day activities including receiving materials, jobsite preparation, installation work, proper documentation/invoicing of installed products, and jobsite cleanup.
- Maintains tools, equipment, and company vehicles in proper working condition.
- Ensures all decking installations comply with manufacturer specifications and applicable local building codes.
- Assists with jobsite preparation including demolition of existing structures when required.
- May perform minor facility or yard maintenance tasks as directed and assist in warehouse or yard operations when not performing installation work.

- Some installation experience required. Active participation in the loading and installation of product.
- Driver’s license with a medical card a plus.
- Knowledgeable in lumber yard products and vehicle/equipment preventative maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of residential, multi-family, and light commercial building techniques and industry standards.
- Working knowledge of lumber yard and warehouse functions
