This role would be across two buildings - Kelly Elementary (Grades 2-3) and Linntown Intermediate School (Grades 4-5. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive STEAM curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes inquiry-based learning.
- Design and facilitate engaging, hands-on projects and activities that encourage creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking among students.
- Assess and identify the strengths and needs of gifted students, providing differentiated instruction and support tailored to individual learning profiles.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate STEAM concepts into the general education curriculum and support the academic growth of all students.
- Provide professional development and resources to teachers on best practices for supporting gifted learners and incorporating STEAM education into their classrooms.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love of learning and encourages students to take risks in their thinking and problem-solving.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, curriculum updates, and opportunities for enrichment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in gifted education and STEAM instruction.
- Collaborate with school administration and staff to promote a school-wide culture of innovation and excellence in education.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education.
- Valid teaching certification in Elementary Education.
- Experience teaching in a K-5 environment, with a strong emphasis on STEAM education and gifted support.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of the needs of gifted learners and effective strategies for differentiation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and tools to enhance learning experiences.
