A premier global trade and distribution leader is seeking a high-performing Sr. Sales Manager to drive revenue growth and expand the Houston Chemicals division.
In this strategic role, you will lead new business development, grow global key accounts, and manage international trade across a diverse portfolio of specialty chemicals, organic and inorganic chemicals ranging from Nutrition & Supplements, C5 resins, Dicyclopentadiene (DCPD), solvents, Glass Air Filter Media across North America and international markets.
Position: Sr. Manager – Chemical Sales & Business Development
Compensation: $100,000 – $135,000 / year (Based on Experience) Bonus
Location: Houston, TX (In-Person | Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Business Development & Account Management
- Identify and cultivate new customer/vendor relationships, deliver sales presentations, and launch new products.
- Service, maintain, and expand existing accounts while managing pricing, terms, and commercial conditions.
- Drive departmental growth targets beyond assigned accounts.
🔹 Global Trade & Logistics Oversight
- Manage international trading across multiple regions—overseeing commercial negotiations, logistics coordination, Incoterms, and trade documentation.
- Handle shipping arrangements, track delivery statuses, and proactively resolve supply chain issues.
- Conduct market analyses to identify supply-demand shifts and strategic opportunities.
🔹 Operations, Finance & Risk Management
- Prepare essential trade documentation: price quotes, sales contracts, and purchase orders.
- Oversee credit limits, monitor Accounts Receivable (A/R), and follow up on outstanding payments to mitigate credit risk.
- Manage inventory levels and maintain accurate recordkeeping.
- Investigate and resolve complex customer complaints or order discrepancies.
🔹 Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise and mentor a Sales Assistant on ledger entries and document preparation.
- Collaborate across global organizational networks to streamline trading operations.
- Prepare monthly performance and market reports.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 5 years of sales and marketing experience, ideally in the Chemicals industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Trade Expertise: Solid understanding of Incoterms, international logistics, and cost-calculation models.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic accounting/credit principles.
- Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Requirements: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for business.
