What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coalitions Manager - Constituencies position at Letitia James for Attorney General?
About the Campaign
James for NY is the re-election campaign of New York Attorney General Letitia James. Attorney General James has spent her career fighting for New Yorkers. We are building a statewide team that reflects New York and runs through Election Day, November 3, 2026.
The Role
The Coalitions Manager for Constituencies builds and runs the campaign’s engagement with the communities and organizations that make up New York’s Democratic coalition — immigrant and ethnic community organizations, LGBTQ New Yorkers, veterans, seniors, young voters, and civic and advocacy groups. You will map the landscape, secure constituency leaders with the campaign, secure organizational endorsements, and create the events and validator moments that make the coalition visible.
What You'll Do
- Map the coalition — build and maintain a statewide landscape of constituency organizations, leaders, and community media, prioritized by where they can move.
- Win organizational support — manage the endorsement process with unions, community organizations, and advocacy groups, from questionnaires through announcement.
- Build constituency tables — stand up and staff advisory councils and leadership tables for key constituencies.
- Create visibility — plan constituency events, roundtables, and community moments for the Attorney General and surrogates, coordinated with scheduling and regional teams.
- Develop the surrogate bench — identify and prepare community leaders to carry the campaign’s message in their own communities and media.
- Partner with communications — work with the communications team on community and ethnic media, translated materials, and constituency-specific message moments.
