Banquet Set Up
Reports To: Food & Beverage Director and Food & Beverage Manager
Purpose of the Position: As a Banquet Set-Up staff member, you will be responsible for the timely and efficient set-up of banquet and event spaces in our hotel. Your attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with other team members will contribute to the overall success of our events and guest satisfaction. The primary goal is to ensure that the event space is organized, aesthetically pleasing, and meets the specific requirements of the client.

Essential Responsibilities:
Event Preparation:
- Set up and arrange tables, chairs, and other furniture according to event specifications and floor plans.
- Ensure the correct number of place settings, linens, and any additional equipment are in place.
- Assist in decorating the event space as per the client’s requirements, including the placement of centerpieces and other decorative elements.
- Arrange and set up audio-visual equipment, podiums, microphones, and any other technical or presentation tools required for the event.
Service Execution:
- Greet and welcome guests in a professional and friendly manner.
- Serve food and beverage to guests and / or buffet lines according to established protocols and timing.
- Monitor and anticipate guest needs to provide proactive service.
- Work efficiently to meet tight schedules and deadlines, especially during back-to-back events or multiple functions in a day.
Professionalism:
- Maintain a polished appearance and adhere to hotel’s uniform and grooming standards.
- Handle challenging situations with tact and composure, seeking assistance from supervisors when necessary.
Flexibility:
- Adapt to changes in event plans or last-minute requests, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to assist in various capacities.
- Work seamlessly in various event settings, adapting to different themes and styles.
Cleanliness and Hygiene:
- Adhere to health and safety standards, including proper handling of food and sanitation practices.
- Clear tables and buffet lines efficiently and discreetly during the event, removing used dishes, pans, utensils, etc.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen staff, bartenders, and other banquet team members to ensure smooth and coordinated service.
- Attend pre-event briefings to review event details and expectations.
Post-Event
- Assist in the breakdown and cleanup of the event space.
- Return equipment and unused items to their designated storage space.
- Provide feedback on the event to the Food & Beverage Supervisor for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in banquet set-up or related roles is preferred.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility of work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
