Job Summary: As a Banquet Server, you play a key role in delivering exceptional service during various events hosted by the hotel, ensuring a positive guest experience. Your responsibilities include efficiently serving food and beverages, setting up event spaces, and maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Pre-Event Setup:
- Assist in setting up banquet and event spaces according to event orders and diagrams.
- Arrange tables, chairs, linens, and table settings in an organized and aesthetically pleasing manner.
- Ensure all required equipment, glassware, and utensils are in place before the start of the event.
- Service Execution:
- Greet and escort guests to their assigned tables with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Take and deliver drink orders promptly and accurately.
- Serve plated meals or assist with buffet service according to established standards.
- Monitor guests to anticipate needs and respond to requests in a timely and courteous manner.
- Professionalism:
- Maintain a polished appearance and adhere to the hotel's uniform and grooming standards.
- Handle challenging situations with tact and composure, seeking assistance from supervisors when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure seamless service.
- Cleanliness and Hygiene:
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Clear tables efficiently and discreetly during the event, removing used dishes and utensils.
- Assist in post-event cleanup, ensuring event spaces are left in a tidy condition.
- Flexibility:
- Adapt to changes in event plans or last-minute requests, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to assist in various capacities.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other banquet team members to ensure smooth and coordinated service.
- Attend pre-event briefings to review event details and expectations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a banquet server or in a similar role is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy trays, and move quickly between tasks.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
