What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Coordinator position at Leola Construction?
Who We Are
Sole Construction Partners is a shared services engine for a network of five construction companies. We create systems that work today and grow with tomorrow, earn trust through every interaction, and tackle challenges with persistence and professionalism. Our success comes from sharing knowledge, celebrating wins, and working as one team.
We believe strong relationships are just as important as strong numbers, so we earn trust through every interaction with our clients, partners, and teammates. Challenges don’t slow us down — we face them with focus, persistence, and professionalism, always looking for smarter, better ways forward. We share knowledge freely, celebrate wins together, and know that our success comes from working as one team.
We use a proven operating framework to set clear goals, track results, and keep our teams accountable and aligned.
Here’s the work you get to do:
- Import material purchase orders from AppWright into Sage daily for both Leola and Shell Force, keeping the two systems tightly aligned.
- Generate POs in AppWright based on memorized takeoffs and takeoffs imported by the Estimating team.
- Create fill-order POs for the field when requested, supporting a high weekly volume across Leola and Shell Force.
- Complete PO revisions when requested by Estimating, Production, or the field, making sure every change is captured accurately.
- Complete PO switches for both Leola and Shell Force as needed.
- Communicate daily with the field on material needs and provide pricing for EPOs so crews have what they need to stay productive.
- Respond to suppliers on PO and delivery questions, keeping vendor relationships clear and responsive.
- Assist other departments with PO-related questions and follow up with Estimating on MTOs needed to keep work moving.
- Send the weekly POA scorecard to the team and flag trends worth watching.
Here's what makes you a great fit for this role:
- 2–5 years of experience in a purchasing admin, PO coordinator, or data-entry role, ideally in construction or a related trade.
- Comfortable using and quickly learning construction software and business systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills — you can move through takeoffs, pricing sheets, and scorecards without friction.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a track record of staying accurate in a high-volume environment.
- Clear, calm communicator — able to work with field crews, estimators, and vendors and keep everyone on the same page.
- Organized, self-directed, and able to prioritize when multiple teams are asking for help at once.
- Team-first mindset; you’re happy to jump in where needed and support Purchasing as it grows.
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s a plus but not required with relevant experience.
