Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Chemist specializing in Gas Chromatography to provide accurate analytical services and results. The role involves performing routine extraction, chemical isolation, and sample clean-up using various techniques. This position requires the operation of laboratory equipment such as blenders, nitrogen- and roto-evaporators, shakers, pH meters, and centrifuges.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine extraction, chemical isolation, and sample clean-up using blending, shaking, Soxhlet extraction, digestion, SPE, distillation/condensation, liquid-liquid partitioning, and chemical derivatization.
- Operate laboratory apparatus including blenders, nitrogen- and roto-evaporators, shakers, pH meters, and centrifuges.
- Independently document and prepare reagents and analytical working standards according to current SOPs.
- Extract samples and prepare reagents according to documented methods and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Proficiency in gas chromatography, GCMS, and mass spectrometry.
- Experience with Tandem Mass Spectrometry and Gas Chromatography Reaction Monitoring.
- Knowledge of Agilent and Masshunter software.
- Expertise in sample preparation and extraction techniques.
- Familiarity with chromatographic separation and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in inorganic and analytical chemistry.
- Troubleshooting skills in GC analysis.
- Ability to work with laboratory equipment such as balances and pipettes.
