What You’ll Do Day to Day:
Responsible for developing data mapping specifications including identifying data rules and defining transformation rules to achieve overall objectives. Work closely with designated business units to deliver high quality outcomes by applying critical thinking skills to analyze data to advance the delivery of business value. Work within Capital Markets team to clean, optimize, and produce data to support the ongoing financial analysis and reporting needs of the business.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Find opportunities for streamlining and automation of business processes that provide insights and business information to clients.
- Partner with subject matter experts, architects, and engineers to analyze business needs and model related items.
- Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
- Use big data platforms to mine and analyze data driven optimizations and improve product development, marketing techniques, and business strategies.
- Conduct moderate to complex data profiling and analysis to evaluate data sources to determine the best source for business information.
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
- Create dashboards using data visualization tools to support management decision making.
- Identify and champion new initiatives aimed at delivering value to business stakeholders.
- Optimize complex SQL programs for speed and efficiency.
- Perform data wrangling, ETL, and data exploration tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Analytics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- 3 years’ experience in Data Analysis or equivalent work experience.
- Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using software like: Periscope, Business Objects, D3, Domo, Tableau and GCP.
- General programming/coding experience in Python, VB, SAS etc.
- Proficient with a variety of databases including SQL, Redshift, MySQL, GCP, Hadoop.
- Familiarity with data modeling concepts as well as knowledge of conceptual and logical data modeling practices.
- Familiarity with concepts of Operational Data Store and Data Warehouse.
- Familiarity with Lender Finance, Capital Markets, or Structured Finance.
- Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
