Job Overview
Lehigh Fluid Power, Inc., in Lambertville NJ has an open position for a material handling specialist & production saw operator. The primary responsibilities for the position are to load outgoing freight on LTL trucks and unload incoming raw materials. Raw materials include tubing and bar stock as well as varying sizes and types of steel. The material handling specialist will use the bill of lading to take incoming stock and load it into the appropriate storage areas based on the type of material. Between incoming and outgoing shipments, the material handling specialist will operate production saws cutting material for further processing. This position requires an individual who is organized, self-starting, able to work safely and possesses a high-level attention to detail. This position is perfect for the candidate who has good mechanical aptitude and is interested in beginning to develop a broad set of manufacturing skills. Some forklift and manufacturing experience is preferred but Lehigh will train the right candidate in all areas from the use of precision measuring tools, reading blueprints and machine setup. This position also has significant growth potential to expand into other areas of the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
- Manage material handling tasks using forklifts and cranes to load, unload, and transport raw materials and finished products throughout the facility.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings and cut raw material within stated tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance on production saws and maintain the daily forklift inspection log.
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, precision measuring instruments, and visual checks to verify dimensions and adherence to specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols related to machining, material handling equipment, and fabrication operations.
Requirements
- Familiarity with basic measuring tools and standards for quality control purposes.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations related to machining tolerances, and process adjustments.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to crane operation, manual and automated production saws, and general manufacturing safety standards.
- Exceptional time management skills and the ability to identify and perform tasks without immediate supervision.
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
