Job Overview

Manages and/or performs all tasks related to Preventive and Reactive Maintenance within the shop facility as further detailed below. Manages and performs all duties related to shipping and receiving as further detailed below.

Roles and Responsibilities

Maintenance:

● Manage and execute the facility’s preventive maintenance program

● Maintain maintenance records and documentation

● Perform routine and preventive maintenance on industrial equipment including air compressors, abrasive blasting equipment, forklifts, boilers, autoclaves, paint booths, etc..

● This is a hands-on role with autonomy, ideal for a mechanic who enjoys solving equipment problems and improving plant operations.

● Coordinate maintenance subcontractors, including electricians, boiler repair contractors and inspectors.

● Address all maintenance-related problems in order of priority to keep production running

● Issue purchase orders for necessary parts

● Ability to read schematics, blueprints and diagrams for electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems

● Assist with facility upkeep including snow removal when necessary

Shipping/Receiving/Material Handling:

● Operate forklifts, yard cranes, and other lifting equipment to move select customer materials

● Coordinate all required shipments with carriers and communicate with customers regarding incoming or outgoing shipments

● Verify incoming parts against the packing lists.

● Inspect and photograph completed shipments prior to departure

● Maintain organized storage areas for incoming materials

● Properly store incoming shipments of rubber, coatings, and solvents

● Manage hazardous waste storage and drum labeling

● Maintain weekly hazardous waste logs

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

● A minimum of 5 years Industrial maintenance and material handling experience required and verifiable

● High School Diploma or educational equivalent (GED) preferred

● Experience using power tools is required

● Basic computer skills required (MS office, email, spread sheet data entry)

● Must work well in a team environment, as well as independently

● Must be professional and have a good work ethic

● Must be well-organized and have good housekeeping skills

● Possess good problem-solving skills

● Forklift experience required

● Ability to meet or exceed the Company's attendance and punctuality standards

● Reliable transportation is required

Physical Demands

● Some lifting required (5-50 lbs.)

● Ability to climb ladders

● Ability to work in confined spaces without claustrophobia

● Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling, laying horizontally, climbing, standing for prolonged periods and walking as job requires

Environmental Conditions

● Extreme heat or cold

● Noise level, which may at times require hearing protection (earplugs or other means)
