Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for an Automation Engineer role in Biddeford, ME. Key Responsibilities:
· Design, improve, and troubleshoot custom-built automation systems including mechanical, software, and networking components.
· Lead the integration of new systems and automation equipment within production facilities.
· Develop, implement, and maintain technical policies and procedures to ensure consistent and high-quality automation performance.
· Identify, design, and implement process improvements using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
· Execute technical assignments and system integrations while meeting strict cost and schedule requirements.
· Collaborate with internal and external customers to develop and qualify process changes and provide technical support services.
· Design and develop new automation equipment for future production systems.
· Ensure health and safety policies are integrated into design and operation of all automation systems.
· Apply industry and certification standards to ensure compliance in all plant automation projects.
· Work closely with designers, integrators, and manufacturers to develop robust, scalable automation solutions.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field required.
· Minimum 5 years of experience as an Automation Engineer in an industrial environment.
· Hands-on experience with SCADA systems and PLC hardware/programming.
· Knowledge of industrial controls and electrical systems (AC/DC power).
· Proficiency with CAD software and system design documentation.
· Demonstrated ability in technical problem-solving, product/process development, and customer-focused support.
· Ability to obtain a Security Clearance.
Preferred:
· Experience with high-temperature or high-pressure material processes.
· In-depth knowledge of Allen-Bradley controls.
· Advanced technical degree and/or system design experience.
· Experience in custom software coding or automation system integration.
