- Create and maintain accurate patient accounts and records within medical software systems
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information to ensure accuracy
- Photocopy identification and insurance cards as needed
- Review provider schedules and screen patient information for completeness
- Assist with patient intake, including registration, triage, and vital signs
- Educate patients and families about healthcare processes and resources available to them
- Answer incoming calls and route them appropriately to ensure smooth communication
- Provide follow-up assistance, including managing lab results and abnormal findings
- Perform phlebotomy duties and process lab specimens as needed
- Assist the Nurse Practitioner with clinical and administrative tasks to support patient care
- Participate in public health education and outreach activities
- Keep the clinic organized by completing opening and closing procedures and maintaining an orderly lobby
- Support the team in clinic development, performance improvement, and expansion efforts
- Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure the clinic’s success
- High School Diploma or GED with some medical knowledge
- Must maintain BLS/CPR certification
- Completion of a Medical Assisting program at an accredited school is desirable, with certification preferred
- Ability to work independently and multitask
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with parents, students, teachers, and team members from diverse backgrounds
- Proficiency with electronic medical record software
- Capability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks
- Bilingual proficiency is preferred but not required
