Schedule: Monday-Friday (8AM-5PM)Welcome to the heart of Legacy Community Health! As a Bilingual Front Office Clerk Float, you will be the friendly face and voice that greets our patients, ensuring their first experience with us is warm and welcoming. Your role is pivotal in creating lasting relationships between patients and their healthcare providers.
- Be the first point of contact for patients, both over the phone and in person
- Float to various clinic locations, offering support where it's needed most
- Shape the patient-provider relationship, impacting long-term healthcare outcomes
- Work in a dynamic environment that values collaboration and community impact

- Answer incoming calls and route them appropriately
- Perform client intake and notify appropriate staff of the client's arrival
- Enter patient information into the appropriate databases accurately
- Assist the volunteer coordinator with the management of volunteers
- Follow appointment procedures as set by management
- Handle cash transactions and follow cash handling procedures
- Complete opening and closing procedures of the clinic
- Maintain a tidy and orderly clinic lobby
- Process lab results as assigned by the Practice Manager
- Participate in the Performance Improvement Program
- Promote a professional, respectful, and courteous environment for all
- Collaborate effectively with the team to meet departmental goals
- Work within the context of a primary care medical home, applying a team-based approach
- Attend all required safety training programs and understand related responsibilities
- Operate assigned equipment and perform all procedures safely
- Maintain work area and equipment according to Legacy standards
- Demonstrate proper body mechanics in all functions
- Ensure patient environment and equipment safety
- Report safety concerns promptly to appropriate personnel
- Follow Legacy's exposure control plans, blood-borne and airborne pathogens
- Demonstrate knowledge of protective barrier equipment (Universal Precautions)
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Pleasant, professional, and articulate phone voice
- Ability to multi-task and handle many incoming calls or patients at once
- Efficient and accurate data-entry skills
- Computer literacy and multi-line phone or switchboard experience
- If no experience, the prospective receptionist must be able to learn it quickly
- Basic knowledge such as basic math, alphabetical or numerical filing may also be required
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
