Tekla Drafter/Detailer

Legacy Building Solutions is an established and growing fabric building manufacturer that specializes in highly custom, large and specialty fabric structures. We are seeking a structural detailer to join our team. Detailers are responsible for modeling, producing shop drawings, erection drawings and develop detailed drawings for the construction of rigid steel framed tension fabric structures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Develops detailed drawings for the construction of rigid steel framed tensioned fabric structures using Tekla.
• Designs structural steel buildings in accordance with verbal explanations, sketches, customer drawings, specifications, written descriptions/explanations and standard engineering practices.
• Develops drawings for manufacture, components and assembly of tensioned fabric structures
• Prepares 2D/3D modeling’s of structures.
• Reviews drawings for completeness and accuracy.
• Detail and design using Tekla Structures to detail, check, model, create part drawings etc. 
• Develop Bill of Materials utilizing excel to produce a shipping list of fabric building parts and components for plant and customer use. 

 ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associates Degree in Drafting; experience may be substituted for schooling
• Experience with modeling software.
• Tekla structures experience is required (at least 1 year).
• Knowledge of construction and steel industry preferred. 
• Familiarity with business software applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to self-managed multiple projects and work within deadlines
  • Work in a team environment with sales team, engineers, designers and drafters on projects
  • Ability to evaluate alternatives and resolve technical issues
• Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required
