Title: Assistant Men’s Volleyball CoachDepartment: AthleticsCategory: Part-time, non-exempt, stipendReports to: Head Men’s Volleyball CoachSummary/Objective The assistant men’s volleyball coach will support the head coach in recruitment, management, training and coaching of the men’s volleyball team.Essential FunctionsSupport goals and objectives of the Athletics Program.Assist the Head Coach with organization of team equipment, practices, recruitment, team travel, fundraising, and any other area of responsibility as directed by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.Work cooperatively and responsibly with other departmental personnel.Support the student-athlete concept and demonstrate concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student-athlete.Coordinate practice, film, or training sessions with specific positional groups, redshirt players, or scout players, as assigned.Assist with athlete recruitment, campus visits, prospect camps, and scouting.Additional duties as assignedCompetenciesEthical Conduct.Stress Management/Composure.Teamwork Orientation.Thoroughness.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Work EnvironmentNormal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise and the like.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a part-time stipend position.TravelTravel may be required, including accompanying the team to both home and away competitions and participating in recruiting activities as part of coaching responsibilities.
