Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with a strong background in financial reporting, general ledger management, and month end close, ideally within the insurance industry. This individual will play a key role in overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting leadership with timely and actionable financial insights. Experience working within SAP is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the month end, quarter-end, and year end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and variance analysis
• Maintain and analyze the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions
• Perform and review balance sheet and bank reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements, particularly within the insurance industry
• Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights and reporting to support business decisions
• Manage and mentor accounting staff, ensuring efficiency and development
• Partner with cross functional teams including finance, operations, and compliance
• Support audit processes, including preparation of schedules and documentation
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
• Experience working within the insurance industry strongly preferred
• Hands-on experience with SAP (S/4HANA or ECC preferred)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial analysis
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
