Painting Apprentice

Xtreme Services is seeking a painting apprentice to join our growing industrial, commercial, and residential construction team. We are looking for an experienced coatings professional who takes pride in safe preparation, precise application, and durable, specification-compliant finishes.

Employment Type: Full-time

Location: Goodrich, Michigan, with travel to customer and project sites as assigned

Schedule: Varies by project; overtime, weekends, shutdown work, and out-of-town travel may be required

Compensation: $20 /HR Based on experience, credentials, and demonstrated capability.

·   Interpret coating schedules, specifications, product data sheets, safety data sheets, and manufacturer instructions.

·   Prepare steel, concrete, masonry, drywall, wood, and other substrates using approved cleaning and profiling methods.

·   Mix and apply primers, epoxies, urethanes, enamels, sealers, and specialty coatings within product requirements.

·   Use brush, roller, conventional spray, airless spray, and other authorized equipment safely and effectively.

·   Protect work areas and control ventilation, containment, overspray, contamination, and waste.

·   Verify ambient conditions, recoat windows, film thickness, coverage, color, appearance, and completed-work quality.

·   Work experience working in residential, commercial, or industrial setting or equivalent demonstrated proficiency.

·   Knowledge of surface preparation, coating application, mix ratios, recoat windows, and common coating defects.

·   Ability to read coating specifications, product data sheets, safety data sheets, and quality requirements.

·   Experience with spray equipment, lifts, scaffolds, ventilation, containment, and respiratory protection preferred.

·   Dependable attendance, professional communication, and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
